The 19th-century Banco de España building was truly designed to impress and is still undergoing extension work to this very day. The principle behind the latest extension work was to further expand the façades of the building on the two adjoining streets. The building was furnished with additional architectural features designed to underline the existing historical structure rather than challenge it.

Likewise, the Runtal Arteplano blends subtly into its architectural surroundings, as well as ensuring a pleasant environment in the rooms of the building.
